GPS Walk Tracker

Use your phone's GPS to track your walk route, distance, steps, and pace in real-time.

How it works

How are steps calculated?

Steps are estimated based on distance traveled divided by average stride length (0.7 meters). This is a rough estimate — actual steps may vary based on your height and walking style.

Why do I need to grant location permission?

Location permission allows the app to access your GPS coordinates to track your route and calculate distance. This data stays entirely on your device.

Does this work offline?

Yes! GPS tracking works offline. The map requires an internet connection to display tiles, but tracking itself doesn't.

Can I see my past walks?

When you save a walk, it gets added to your step tracker history. Go to the Fitness Tracker page to view all your logged walks.

What about battery drain?

GPS tracking uses battery. We use 'high accuracy' mode which balances accuracy and battery life. Lock your screen if you want to save battery.
