How to perform it

  1. 1Stand with mid-foot under the bar, feet hip-width apart.
  2. 2Hinge down and grip the bar just outside your legs.
  3. 3Brace your core, keep a flat back, and drive through the floor to stand tall.
  4. 4Lower the bar by pushing your hips back, keeping it close to your body.

Form tips

  • Keep the bar dragging close to your shins and thighs
  • Set your lats before you pull

Common mistakes

  • Rounding the lower back
  • Jerking the bar off the floor
  • Hyperextending at the top
